Jack Jordan was born on August 26, 1917 in Oklahoma. Jack grew up working in his father and grandfather’s Merck store and this is where Jack learned to spice, cure and smoke meat. This love of cooking and curing meats lead Jack to open his first BBQ restaurant, Jack Jordan’s BBQ in 1952 on Kermit Highway. Having seen in a dream the complete layout of the store and the recipes, Jack followed his heart and opened his restaurant. For more than six decades, Jack Jordan’s has been a staple West Texas icon of BBQ.

People come from miles around just to eat the BBQ and enjoy our homemade potato salad; made from scratch every day. In 1987, Jack Jordan’s was bought by Jack’s son, Jimmy Jordan. Under Jimmy’s direction, Jack’s has continued to grow, expand and build on the legacy of his father. Now three generations later, Jack’s continues to deliver the kind of food loved by all!
